Her major clinical practice areas of interest include the appropriate use of anti-infectives (antibacterials, antivirals, and antifungals); the development of drug resistance; and the incorporation of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of anti-infectives to the drug use process. Doctor Erdman joined Wishard Health Services as the Manager of Inpatient and Outpatient Clinical Pharmacy Services, and also as an Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacist who works with the Inpatient Infectious Diseases team, as well as the Outpatient HIV clinic. Dr. Erdmans' primary areas of research interest include the pharmacokinetic study of anti-infective agents in the presence of renal insufficiency, the therapeutic use of anti-infectives in the treatment of resistant bacteria., and the evaluation of appropriate vancomycin trough concentrations in the treatment of infection. Dr. Erdman has published several peer-reviewed articles in the scientific literature, as well as numerous book chapters regarding Infectious Diseases and Anticoagulation. She currently holds a joint appointment with the Loyola Stritch School of Medicine Department of Pharmacology due to her continued contributions in the Pharmacology and Therapeutics course for the 2nd year Medical Students. Dr. Erdman is a member of the America College of Clinical Pharmacy, the Indiana College of Clinical Pharmacy,the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists, the American Society for Microbiology.
