Preceptor Training

Description: A four week focused advanced practice rotation at Methodist Medical Group in Indianapolis. The first 2-3 weeks are spent preparing for the diabetes camp and then one full week is spent with children at a diabetes camp in the wilderness. The camp provides a unique opportunity for medical professionals to work with diabetes in a natural setting that stimulates the child’s home environment. Participants will develop skills in the specifics of diabetes care by managing a group of campers under the guidance of experienced staff. Daily conferences will be provided by physicians, nurses, dieticians, and mental health professionals on topics relating to diabetes care.
