congestive heart failure
diabetes
depression
gastrointestinal disorders
osteoporosis
pain
Parkinson's disease
thyroid disorders
4. Interpret lab values and make appropriate recommendations
5. Effective and efficient chart review
6. Understand the Survey process that nursing homes are subject to
7. Understand the utilization of the MDS (minimum data set)
8. Understand the role of Physicians and Nurse Practitioners in LTC
Activities
1. One nursing home inservice
2. Assist with various projects underway at the time of students clerkship
3. Attend one QA meeting
4. Two journal discussions with preceptor
