Law Rotation at McMains, Foster & Morse

Indianapolis, IN

Description:  A four week advanced practice rotation at the law office of McMains, Foster, and Morse where pharmacists and other health care professionals are represented.  Students may be asked to question clients, prepare affidavits, and participate in hearings before the medical licensing board.

Potential Student Activities:

1.  Compile affidavits and acquire signatures
2.  Research files for cases involving pharmacists and/or pharmacies

3.  Question a client to gather more information in order to prepare for a hearing before the Board of Pharmacy

4.  Assist in preparing questions to be used in a deposition

5.  Perform internet searches to gather research

6.  Participate in a hearing before the medical licensing board

7.  Attend a Board of Pharmacy meeting

8.  Pick up and deliver documents

9.  Serve a subpoena

10.  Assist in writing a letter to the Board of Pharmacy for re-instatement of a license

11.  Revise policy for Purdue University on impaired pharmacy students to be implemented this fall

12.  Compose letters to the Attorney General’s office for responses to consumer complaints
