Please join me to congratulate Dr. Alex Issacs.  Alex was recently selected as the 2020 recipient of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) New Educator Award.  This award recognizes and honors a new educator for outstanding contributions to the discipline of teaching and to the education of health care practitioners.

Dr. Jim Tisdale was recently appointed as the Chair, Board of Directors, Pharmacotherapy Publications, Inc (PPI).

Please join me to congratulate Dr. Jim Tisdale.  Jim was recently appointed as the Chair, Board of Directors, Pharmacotherapy Publications, Inc (PPI). His appointment becomes official on October 27, 2020 at the end of the 2020 ACCP Annual Meeting and will be a 2 year renewable term.  The PPI Board provides oversight and direction for both Pharmacotherapy and the Journal of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (JACCP) as well as various other professional publications associated with ACCP.  Congratulations Jim!

Dr. Jane Krause was recently awarded the Indiana Pharmacy Teaching Certificate (IPTeC) program’s award as the 2019-2020 Mentor of the Year.

Dr. Alicia Russ authored a paper that was selected as the 2019 PHPR Paper of the Year

Congratulations to Dr. Alicia Russ whose paper “Medication decision-making for patients with renal insufficiency in inpatient and outpatient care at a US Veterans Affairs Medical Centre: a qualitative, cognitive task analysis” was selected as the 2019 PHPR Paper of the Year.  Congratulations also to Department members Dr. Nervana Elkhadragy and Dr. Alan Zillich, who were co-authors on the paper.

Community-Based Residency Program at Mathes Diabetes Center recently received a full 8-year reaccreditation

Please join me to congratulate Dr. Nikki Olenik.  Nikki and her team’s PGY1 Community-Based Residency Program at Mathes Diabetes Center recently received a full 8-year reaccreditation.  This is the longest stretch of accreditation that can be awarded to residency programs and reflects her tieless work to sustain a high quality program.  Also, Dr. Kania was instrumental in helping with the accreditation process.   Congratulations!
