Dear Colleagues,
Please join me to congratulate Dr. Karen Hudmon. Karen has been selected to receive the 2019 Indiana Pharmacist Association (IPA) President’s Award of Appreciation. She is being recognized for her dedication and efforts that were integral to one of our newest practice advancement opportunities within Indiana (Pharmacist ability to dispense tobacco cessation medication without a prescription). Dr. Hudmon testified 2 years ago for HB 1540, which was our first step in this journey. She then worked diligently over the last year with our team to prepare and present information to Dr. Box and other key stakeholders. The information and research that Dr. Hudmon prepared for our meetings with key stakeholders was of vital importance to the signing of the state-wide tobacco cessation protocol in July 2019.
